Reese Olson Diagnosed With Mild Finger Inflammation
Reese Olson (finger) received multiple opinions and was diagnosed with mild inflammation in his ring finger. Olson will be re-evaluated later this week to see if he can resume throwing. The Tigers placed the 25-year-old on the 15-day injured list on Monday with his finger injury, but he could be ready to return to the team's starting rotation when he's eligible to come off the IL on June 2. Olson deserves to be stashed by fantasy managers while he's on the mend. He threw six scoreless innings in his last start against the Toronto Blue Jays last Saturday and has a pristine 1.60 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 38 strikeouts and 11 walks in 33 2/3 innings in his last six starts. Overall, Olson has gone 4-3 this year for the Tigers with a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 51 punchouts in 48 2/3 frames over his nine starts.
