The Houston Astros have placed relief pitcher Bryan Abreu on the paternity list. As a result, AJ Blubaugh will take his spot on the roster. Through the early part of the campaign, Abreu has been deployed in his typical setup role in front of the ninth-inning option, Josh Hader. Across 13 innings of work, Abreu has held a strong 2.08 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP. Abreu has tallied nine holds and struck out 18 batters. Under the hood, he generated an elite 2.9 percent barrel rate while generating whiffs at a strong 34.0 percent rate. While he is sidelined for the time being, Taylor Scott, Bryan King, or Kaleb Ort should see time in the eighth inning.
