Even though the NFL season is officially over, the offseason is one of the best times to upgrade your team in dynasty formats. That could mean buying several star players or trading away a young superstar for multiple first-round picks. Those decisions should be made based on how your team currently looks. 

In this article, we will examine the dynasty outlooks for three former Ohio State wide receivers (Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, and Chris Olave). These three wide receivers are all young and have shown their potential at some point. 

So, should we buy or sell Smith-Njigba, Wilson, and Olave in fantasy football dynasty leagues? Let's dive in and find out.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver was always going to take a backseat on offense to start his career. Given that he was competing for targets with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Smith-Njigba likely wasn't going to be a strong fantasy option right away. That was certainly the case in his rookie season, as the former Ohio State product totaled 63 catches for 628 yards and four touchdowns. 

However, it was only a matter of time until Smith-Njigba became the top wide receiver in this Seattle offense. Although he got off to a slow start in 2024, the 23-year-old playmaker totaled 63 catches for 811 yards and five touchdowns over the final 10 games of the season. During that span, he averaged 81.1 receiving yards per game and scored the ninth-most fantasy points at the position.

As a result, Smith-Njigba is someone dynasty managers should be looking to buy this offseason. It might not be easy to acquire him, considering he ended his sophomore campaign with a bang but the future is bright for the young Seahawks wideout. He totaled 100 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns last year. 

Following his breakout season, expect Smith-Njigba to be an even more consistent fantasy option in 2025. He was Geno Smith's preferred go-to option in the passing game to end the year, and their chemistry should only grow in Year 3 together. The Seahawks wideout also just turned 23 years old, so he should be a strong dynasty asset for many years to come. 

Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets

Wilson is an interesting case in dynasty formats because the talent has always been there. Despite poor quarterback play in each of his three NFL seasons, the New York Jets wideout has totaled at least 80 receptions and 1,140 yards every year. He is also coming off a season where he finished as the WR10 in PPR formats. 

It was surely a solid 2024 campaign for Wilson, but the Jets quarterback room remains a huge question mark entering the season once again. With New York expected to release Aaron Rodgers this offseason, the team will have to go out and grab a quarterback in the coming months. As a result, the wideout might not have the best dynasty value right now. 

Still, he is someone to buy in dynasty leagues this offseason. Wilson has produced solid fantasy numbers in every season so far in his career, and the Jets quarterback situation should eventually improve. Even if New York goes after someone like Russell Wilson in free agency, that should help the wideout finish with strong numbers again in 2025.

There's also a chance that the Jets will find their franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Either way, though, selling a young wideout fresh off a 1,140-yard season doesn't seem like the best strategy for dynasty managers who own him. If someone in your league is looking to sell him, see what it would take to acquire him. He has plenty of elite years left ahead of him. 

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

There are a lot of similarities between Wilson and Olave through the first three years. Both wideouts haven't had strong quarterback play or been that elite fantasy option for dynasty managers. The difference between the two, though, is the fact that the Saints wideout has dealt with multiple concussions over his career. 

Olave has suffered four concussions in three years, including two across a three-week span last year that forced him to miss nine games. Those head injuries are definitely worrisome and part of the reason why dynasty managers should be looking to sell him. He is likely one more concussion away from his career being over. 

However, that isn't the only reason why dynasty managers should be looking to sell him. Another is the fact that Olave has never had the biggest upside in fantasy. In his three-year career, the 24-year-old has scored above 20 PPR fantasy points just five times. He has also never ended a season as a top-15 fantasy wideout.

That's why it might be time to move off Olave in dynasty formats. He'll likely be more of a middle-of-the-pack WR2 in fantasy than a WR1 over his NFL career, and it's hard to trust a wide receiver who is currently attached to Derek Carr. So, see what your league mates are willing to offer for the Saints playmaker.
