Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (knee) has now missed both Week 16 and Week 17 with a knee injury. There's only one more game of the regular season, so for fantasy football purposes, if he misses that one, he's at least "out for the fantasy season".
But the Bucs are likely headed to the playoffs, and Otton could have an impact in those games for people that play in playoff leagues or Daily Fantasy Sports. Every game is relevant in some leagues and some formats, so his status is important nonetheless.
So will he be out for the rest of the season, including the playoffs?

Is Cade Otton Out For The Season?
It's extremely unlikely that he misses the playoffs. The Bucs face the New Orleans Saints in Week 18, a team that's been decimated by injuries, and it's unlikely that the Saints' offense will be able to keep up with the Bucs elite unit. We believe Tampa Bay is headed to the postseason -- they have a one game lead over the Atlanta Falcons.
And Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles stated earlier today that the team will keep an eye on the TE's progress. They're uncertain if he'll play. We'll have a better idea of things on Friday. But this verbiage implies that he won't be shut down.

It seems highly likely that he plays in the first round of the playoffs. The team could opt to hold him out of Week 18 or restrict his usage to help reduce wear and tear and the risk of re-injury, so if you're in a fantasy league that includes Week 18 in its championship matchups, you may want to look elsewhere for help at the position.
But it seems like he'll come back sooner rather than later. It might just be a matter of a week.
