Adam Thielen is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) had his practice window opened after being placed on injured reserve early in the season, and logged a few limited practices, but was ultimately held out of Carolina's Week 8 matchup with the Denver Broncos.
Panthers ruled out WRs Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen for Sunday’s game at Denver.

The Panthers are an absolute mess on offense right now, though second-year man Bryce Young looked much better than usual on Sunday. There isn't much reason to roster Thielen right now, though. If lead receiver Diontae Johnson gets traded, he should be picked up immediately, though.
In deeper leagues, he should be scooped up for his PPR-god potential. He could present massive upside in the absence of Johnson with Andy Dalton as his quarterback, or even with Young if he continues to improve. Outside of deeper leagues, this offense is too difficult to trust. It's still unknown if he'll play in Week 9, either.
He's also 34 years old. His hamstring could bother him for the remainder of the season, so it's best to proceed with caution.
