ANALYSIS: Veteran running back Kareem Hunt was the RB39 last season, averaging 7.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. While he was once an elite fantasy football running back, the former Toledo star is still a solid contributor. Last year, Hunt had nine rushing touchdowns on 135 attempts as the co-starter with Jerome Ford.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Hunt to their practice squad earlier today after losing Isiah Pacheco to a fractured fibula in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The veteran should quickly find himself on the active roster, probably as soon as the Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

Carson Steele and Samaje Perine are the two healthy running backs on the active roster. All three will have a role until Pacheco is healthy. Fantasy players in desperate need at the running back position should make Hunt one of their top targets this week. He likely will see most of the groundwork and the goal-line touches, with Steele mixing in as a change-of-pace guy and Perine playing in clear passing situations.
