Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers - Top Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 23 (Aug 26 - Sept 1)

Geraldo Perdomo - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups - icon rotoballer

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 23 of the 2024 season. Thunder Dan Palyo analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up in Week 23.

With only five weeks left in the season, the number of impactful changes we can make to our lineups each week is rapidly disappearing. It's a stuffed schedule this week with every team playing 6 or 7 games again, so there will be ample opportunities to stream hitters when we want to do so.

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups that can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

12  teams are playing seven games this week - ATL, BOS, CHW, COL, DET, HOU, KC, MIA, PHI, SDP, STL, TOR

Every other team plays six games.

Park Factors and Matchups: Upgrades and Downgrades:

The Rockies play all seven games at home -- UPGRADE

The Reds play all six games at home -- UPGRADE

Week 23 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40% rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Colt Keith, 2B/3B - DET (33%)

The Tigers' second baseman is hitting .348 over the last two weeks with a home run and a steal. He was cold for a stretch there in July and got dropped by a lot of teams, bringing him under our 40% rostered threshold, but appears to be heating back up and Detroit can feast on the White Sox for another day on Monday before hosting the Angels and their poor pitching staff.

Michael Toglia, 1B/OF - COL (32%)

Toglia homered again yesterday and is my top Denver target this week as the Rockies play all of their games in Coors and get their first series against the Marlins' pitching staff.

He's been heating up, hitting .333 over the last two weeks with two dingers and 10 runs scored. You simply don't find 20-homer guys on waivers that often, if you need power then look no further.

Keibert Ruiz, C - WAS (29%)

Ruiz is having a disappointing season overall, but he's currently on a nice little streak of productivity, hitting .263 over the last two weeks with three home runs and seven RBI. He's been hitting right in the middle of the Nats' lineup and is about to get some help as Dylan Crews is set to debut tomorrow and will probably hit ahead of him in the lineup somewhere.

Dylan Crews, OF - WAS (28%)

Speaking of Crews, the highly anticipated debut of the No. 2 overall pick is tomorrow and Washington is likely to deploy Crews on an everyday basis for the final month to see what he can do. He's a true 5-tool player and should be added in all formats in case he comes out of the gates hot. I would stash him now just in case, if he has a big first few games he's going to get snatched up everywhere.

JJ Bleday, OF - OAK (27%)

I have a tendency of being a good luck charm for hitters on Saturdays. I go through my initial list on Saturday and I can't tell you how many times a player that I pick for this piece then hits a home run in their game.

Bleday's home run yesterday was his fifth in the last two weeks. He's scored nine runs and driven in another 11 during that span as well. He's sitting at 18 long balls for the year, and it wouldn't surprise me if he got hot down the stretch and finished with 25.

Geraldo Perdomo, 2B/3B/SS - ARI (25%)

I am becoming a Perdomo truther - the guy just hits and gets on base and steals bases so consistently, even if it's not flashy. It's like having another leadoff hitter in the 8-hole for Arizona. He's badly underrated in real life and fantasy.

Ernie Clement, 2B/SS/3B - TOR (24%)

Clement is enjoying the best run of his career right now as an everyday player for the Blue Jays. He's eligible at all infield positions besides first base and swinging a strong bat for Toronto in whatever lineup slot he ends up in. He has four home runs and 11 RBI over the last two weeks and is gathering rostership rather quickly as a lot of fantasy managers are finally starting to take notice.

Brendan Rodgers, 2B - COL (23%)

I already mentioned Colorado is at home all week and Rodgers should be on your radar if you need help at second base.

Matt Vierling, 3B/OF - DET

We have a lot of players from bad teams on the list this week, but that's how it goes when you're dumpster diving on waivers. Vierling leads off for the Tigers against lefties and has had a nice couple of weeks recently, hitting .308 with two home runs and nine runs scored.

Adrian Del Castillo - C, ARI (20%)

The rookie backstop has been awfully impressive since debuting for the Snakes this month. He's hitting .333 with three home runs and 14 RBI through his first 12 games.

The home runs have been of the dramatic variety, too. He's a rock-solid prospect who's showing he's ready for the big leagues and should have a role on this team going forward even when Gabriel Moreno gets healthy.

David Peralta, OF - SDP (13%)

Peralta has been a godsend for the Padres this year as they've badly needed his production while Fernando Tatis Jr. has missed such a big chunk of the season. Peralta won't hit against lefties often, but he's hitting .341 with two home runs, seven runs scored, and seven RBI over the last two weeks. Those numbers will certainly play - give him a look in deep leagues.

Spencer Horwitz, 1B/2B - TOR (13%)

Horwitz is hitting just .195 over the last two weeks, BUT his incredible on-base skills have allowed him to score 11 runs during that span and his power has resurfaced as he's hit three long balls as well.

Fantasy Baseball Deep League Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10% rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Paul DeJong, SS/3B - KC (9%)

Joey Loperfido, OF - TOR (7%)

Ramon Laureano, OF - ATL (6%)

Will Wagner, 2B - TOR (5%)

Connor Norby, 2B - MIA (5%)

Gavin Sheets, 1B/OF - CHW (4%)

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely!
