MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/13/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Yordan Alvarez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on July 13, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Both sites are getting pretty good at having uniform late afternoon slates on Saturday. It's another eight-game slate this week, which aligns with everything from the last month or so. A little more than half the league is in action here with many similar pitchers on the slate. What separates them? We'll get into that.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, July 6, 2024, with the slate starting at 4:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Andrew Abbott vs. MIA ($8.5K DraftKings; $9.3K FanDuel)

I feel like we can get Abbott at lower ownership due to the game being in Cincinnati, but his ERA is better at home (2.80 in eight starts) than on the road (3.26 in 10 starts) this season. Add to that the Marlins' 26.3% strikeout rate against left-handed pitchers over the last month and pitiful .096 ISO, and you have a recipe for success. Abbott might be the highest-scoring pitcher on the slate and he's far from the highest priced.

Mitchell Parker at MIL ($7.5K DraftKings; $8.9K FanDuel)

I like the price much better on DK. Parker isn't discounted much on FD and there is risk here. The Brewers were awful against lefties for the first two months of the season or so, but they have been better lately. Better is a relative term...they are still firmly in the middle of the pack and the 19.1% strikeout rate is nothing to get too excited over. Parker gets a park upgrade and a nicely discounted price on DK, so I'll run him as my SP2 with no questions. On FD, find the extra $400 for Abbott and be done with it.

Tyler Phillips vs. OAK ($6.6K DraftKings; $8.2K FanDuel)

Phillips looked good in long relief against the Braves in his first appearance last week. Good enough that the Phillies are giving him his first major league start against the A's. This is the softest of landings. The A's are striking out at a 27.4% clip against righties over the last month. Phillips fanned seven Braves in four innings last week. There is enormous strikeout potential here at a very cheap price on DK.

Also consider: Seth Lugo at BOS; Christian Scott vs. COL

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. – SS, KC vs. Kutter Crawford ($6.3K DK; $4.3K FD)

Crawford is a good pitcher, but his ERA is also nearly two runs higher at Fenway than on the road this year. Witt is hitting literally everything right now. His average sits at .500 for the last 10 games with four homers, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored, and a steal for good measure. No one is getting him out and he's still not the highest-priced hitter on FD. Take advantage!

Bryce Harper – 1B, PHI vs. Mitch Spence ($5.8K DK; $3.8K FD)

We saved on pitching today for this reason. There are some really good (and really expensive) hitters on the slate with great matchups. Harper cooled off thanks to his IL stint (he had a 12-game hit streak going when he went down on June 27), but the matchups don't get much better for Harper. Spence throws mainly cutters and sliders. Harper is hitting .500 against cutters this year and slugging .571 against sliders. He is also hitting .400 off sinkers, which is Spence's third-favorite pitch.

Xavier Edwards – SS, FLA vs. Andrew Abbott ($2.6K DK; $2.3K FD)

If we're paying for Witt and Harper, we need value. Edwards has five hits in the last three games alone and nine hits in the last seven. He has no power to speak of, but he did steal 32 bags at Jacksonville last year and picked up another six in his September call-up. I understand that he's facing our top pitcher. I get it. However, Abbott isn't infallible. If Edwards singles and steals a bag, we'll get plenty of points from him with minimal damage to the bottom line of Abbott.

Also consider: Pete Alonso, Luis Garcia Jr., Jose Altuve

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez – OF, HOU vs. Nathan Eovaldi ($5.5K DK; $4.2K FD)

There are eight outfielders more expensive than Alvarez on DK. Blasphemers! Yordan owns Nathan Eovaldi.

That all adds up to a ridiculous .647 average in 17 at-bats with a pair of homers, four walks, and a delicious 1.176 SLG. Alvarez is my first click today. BvP isn't everything, but Yordan and Jose Altuve are repeat offenders against Eovaldi. They both smash him in fairly large sample sizes.

Brandon Marsh – OF, PHI vs. Mitch Spence ($4K DK; $2.8K FD)

Marsh is 5-for-10 with a double, a triple, two homers, three RBI, and five runs scored in his last three starts. He is punishing righties this year and Spence is allowing a .275/.472/.783 triple slash to left-handed hitters. This is a small price to pay for that kind of damage.

Rece Hinds – OF, CIN vs. Edward Cabrera ($3.3K DK; $3K FD)

Three homers, eight RBI, and two steals in five freaking days! Whatever he costs, it isn't enough.

Also consider: Steven Kwan, Brent Rooker, Josh Lowe

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Phillies vs. Mitch Spence

2. Astros vs. Nathan Eovaldi

3. Guardians vs. Zack Littell
