2024 Fantasy Football - Five Injured Players to Buy in Dynasty Leagues

Nick Chubb - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Justin Pottinger breaks down five injured players to consider buying in fantasy football dynasty leagues for the 2024 season.

We might be a few months away from fantasy football season, but it is never too early to start researching and determining players' value

This article explores five injured NFL players set to impact the upcoming season. Despite setbacks, these players offer potential value for fantasy managers, especially in dynasty-orientated leagues. From dynamic running backs to seasoned quarterbacks, we delve into their injuries and potential for a fantasy resurgence.

Join us as we uncover hidden gems and potential game-changers. So, let's take an early look at five injured players that dynasty managers should consider buying stock in now.

1. Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

Richardson was one of last year's rookie prodigies, performing well until he had to undergo season-ending surgery on the AC joint in his right throwing shoulder. Richardson played in just four games in 2023, where he threw for 577 yards and three touchdowns while rushing the ball for another 136 yards and four touchdowns.

The former fourth overall draft pick was turning heads with his ability to escape the pocket while making impressive throws downfield or having the ability to take off using his legs. I see Richardson returning this season, fully healthy and able to continue where he left off. Dynasty managers needing a quarterback should consider Richardson a future trade target.

2. Tank Dell, Houston Texans

Dell was a rising star last season and nobody expected him to take the leap he did with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Dell appeared in 11 games, hauling 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. The problem is that the wideout is only 24 years of age, so it may take a little convincing to trade for this rising superstar. Dell suffered a lower-leg injury last year after taking a gruesome hit on a screen pass but should make a full recovery and be ready by the start of the season.

3. Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

We saw the star running back suffer a gruesome knee injury in Week 2, which ended what was expected to be a successful 2023 season. Chubb has been one of the league's best running backs, compiling four straight seasons of 1,000 yards or more before he was injured last year.

However, this could be a situation where fantasy managers who have Chubb could become worried about the running back. This is reasonable to think, as many NFL players don't return the same after such an injury. However, Chubb is a star in this league and there is no reason to think he will perform poorly upon his return. There is a strong possibility that Chubb's value has plummeted in your league, and it's time to take advantage of it.

4. J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers

Dobbins has experienced unfortunate injuries for the past two seasons, playing in just nine total games for the Ravens. Dobbins will click the restart button as he starts the 2024 season with a new team, the Chargers. A positive thing about this relocation is there is little competition to become the lead back under a coach who emphasizes the running game. Dobbins will share rushes with Gus Edwards and Isaiah Spiller to begin the season. I wouldn't imagine the asking price for Dobbins would be high, so a dynasty manager who needs a running back should consider looking his way.

5. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Add another quarterback to the list because the last name I will give you is Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. He played 10 games last season before missing the remainder of the year after suffering a right wrist injury. The quarterback has been a premier superstar since entering the NFL and should continue to be viewed as such for the upcoming season. Burrow will still have his favorite target in Ja'Marr Chase, and I expect the duo to continue to dominate the remainder of the NFL.
