Big Monday has spread over to ESPN2 as well as on the flagship network DraftKings, including all three marquee matchups. It may be a small slate, but there's going to be a lot of high-quality basketball going on!
We begin in Blacksburg with the Hoos in town. The other two are huge Big 12 tilts with Iowa State heading down to Houston and Kansas State heading to Austin. If you like defense, this is your kind of slate!

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Reece Beekman, Virginia ($8.2K)
Watching Beekman play conjures up images of another former Virginia guard in Malcolm Brogdon. Beekman is an elite defender, but he is more offensively polished than Brogdon was in college. Beekman has scored in double figures in seven straight games. He has really turned it on in the last four games with 76 points, 20 rebounds, 21 assists, four steals, and a block for good measure. Virginia only scored 252 combined points in those four games. Beekman is a huge part of whatever the Hoos do. He might even top the 34 DraftKings points he dumped on the Hokies in Charlottesville.
Emanuel Sharp, Houston ($6.2K)
Sharp scored 20 of Houston's 53 points in the first meeting up in Ames. The Cyclones put everything they had into making life difficult for Jamal Shead and L.J. Cryer. It worked. They won the game. Chances are the Cyclones will make someone else try to beat them again. That someone else should be Sharp. He has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, but that 20 is still his high-water mark on the season.
Tyler Nickel, Virginia Tech ($5.4K)
Predictably, Nickel took it to the Tar Heels as the only player to transfer out of Chapel Hill and return to play there. It was all for naught as the Hokies got blown out, but that doesn't matter to us. It's all about the points. Nickel has played over 20 minutes in four straight games and scored 48 points off the bench. He doesn't do much else, so there is some risk here. However, he took eight shots in the first meeting. If he makes one or two more, he's matching his current output.

Dylan Disu, Texas ($8.7K)
Don't worry about Disu. Houston has contained him twice, but they are the only team to hold him under 35 DraftKings points since he returned to his normal allotment of minutes. Houston is tough on the peripheral stats of every player. Expect Disu to log his customary couple of blocks, steals, and assists to get his DraftKings points output where we need it.
Robert Jones, Iowa State ($5.9K)
Jones wasn't much of a factor in the first meeting. That honor went to Milan Momcilovic. Jones has been an efficient shooter lately. He has only missed five out of 20 shots in the last three games combined. With Momcilovic mired in a cold streak, expect Jones to continue getting the shots that might have gone elsewhere in January. The extra points should keep him with a solid total for a mid-range play.
Ja'Vier Francis, Houston ($5K)
Francis has been outstanding on defense off the bench for the Cougars. He picked up 16.5 DraftKings points in the first game against Iowa State and only three of those were on points. He's going to get all sorts of chances for defensive stats again. That's the kind of player I want in a game like this where the score will likely be in the 50s.
