NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (2/12/24)

Stephen Curry - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Mike Barner's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on February 12, 2024.

The NBA starts off the week with a busy 10-game slate Monday. DraftKings and FanDuel will not include the matchup between the Timberwolves and Clippers in their main slates, leaving us with nine games to choose players from.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/12/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m. EST on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Let's first take a look at our premium projections to see who we want to target for our top spend-ups tonight.

Stephen Curry is trying to carry the Warriors back into the playoff hunt. He has shot 52.7 percent from the field and 48.8 percent from behind the arc over their last nine games, averaging 34.0 points to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. A great matchup awaits him against the Jazz, who have the seventh-worst defensive rating in the league.

Another team currently battling for a spot in the play-in tournament is the Bulls, who have been led by DeMar DeRozan. With the team being shorthanded, DeRozan has logged an average of 40 minutes over the last 16 games. During that span, he averaged 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. Look for him to have a high floor against the Hawks, who have played at the third-fastest pace and have the third-worst defensive rating in the league.

A trade from the Knicks to the Raptors has proven to be beneficial for RJ Barrett. Over 17 games with his new team, he has put up 20.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. While he logged 30 minutes a game with the Knicks, he has averaged 34 minutes a game with the Raptors. A leading role against a Spurs team that has played at the fifth-fastest pace in the league makes Barrett a very appealing option.

  1. Stephen Curry, GS at UTA – PG ($9,700 DK; $9,700 FD)
  2. DeMar DeRozan, CHI at ATL – SF/PF ($7,600 DK; $8,100 FD)
  3. RJ Barrett, TOR vs. SA – SG/SF ($7,000 DK; $7,500 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

Deni Avdija is currently averaging career-highs in points (13.0) and assists (3.8) per game, but that’s not the only reason why he has the potential to be one of the best value plays on the slate. In the two games since they traded away Daniel Gafford, Avdija logged at least 39 minutes both times. He recorded 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals against the Celtics, which he followed up with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists versus the 76ers.

Having Andrew Wiggins get back on track could be crucial for the Warriors. He has shown progress, averaging 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.1 blocks over his last 10 games. Given how poorly the Jazz have played on defense, he is another player on the Warriors to target.

After being acquired from the Thunder, the Hornets immediately started Tre Mann at point guard. He logged 27 minutes against the Grizzlies, recording nine points, four rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. It doesn’t seem like LaMelo Ball (ankle) will be back anytime soon, so Mann should start versus a Pacers team that has played at the second-fastest pace in the league.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Deni Avdija, WAS at DAL – SF ($5,900 DK; $6,700 FD)
  2. Andrew Wiggins, GS at UTA – SF/PF ($5,100 DK; $5,800 FD)
  3. Tre Mann, CHA vs. IND – PG ($4,600 DK; $6,000 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

Curry stands out as a point guard with a high floor, but Jamal Murray also fits that description. He is having another stellar campaign, averaging 20.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. Plenty more opportunities to contribute should be coming in a matchup against the Bucks, who have played at the fourth-fastest pace in the league.

We already highlighted Mann and his increased value with his new team. While his salary isn’t exactly cumbersome on FanDuel, it’s very cheap on DraftKings, making him almost too good to pass up.

Top PG Options:

  1. Stephen Curry at UTA, ($9,700 DK; $9,700 FD)
  2. Jamal Murray at MIL, ($8,200 DK; $8,600 FD)
  3. Tre Mann vs. IND, ($4,600 DK; $6,000 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Brandon Miller only took nine shot attempts against the Grizzlies on Saturday, but he still scored 18 points. Over his last 14 games, he has averaged 22.4 points and 17.1 shot attempts. Given the fast pace at which the Pacers play, look for Miller to receive plenty of shot attempts in this matchup.

Vince Williams Jr. is emerging for a Grizzlies team that has been hammered by injuries. Over his last 15 games as a starter, he has chipped in 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals. With a mid-tier salary on both sites, he’s another appealing option.

Working our way even further down the salary scale brings us to Vasilije Micic, who the Hornets also acquired from the Thunder. He was extremely impressive in his debut, posting 18 points and nine assists over 26 minutes. His salary is cheap enough on both sites to make him worth taking a chance on, but he is especially appealing at his salary on DraftKings.

Top SG Options:

  1. Brandon Miller vs. IND, ($7,300 DK; $7,200 FD)
  2. Vince Williams Jr. vs. NO, ($6,200 DK; $6,900 FD)
  3. Vasilije Micic vs. IND, ($3,900 DK; $5,200 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

We have already highlighted all three small forwards that we like to target. DeRozan and Barrett bring higher floors to the table, which makes them two of the safer options for cash contests. For those looking to take a chance on a small forward with a cheaper salary, Avdija stands out amongst the crowd.

Top SF Options:

  1. DeMar DeRozan at ATL, ($7,600 DK; $8,100 FD)
  2. RJ Barrett vs. SA, ($7,000 DK; $7,500 FD)
  3. Deni Avdija at DAL, ($5,900 DK; $6,700 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Lauri Markkanen continues to thrive in the efficiency department, shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from behind the arc. Combine that with his 24.8 percent usage rate and the Jazz and Warriors both ranking inside the top 12 in the league in pace of play and Markkanen should receive plenty of opportunities to contribute.

Another young player on the Grizzlies who has been forced into an expanded role is GG Jackson II. Over the last 15 games, he has averaged 13.4 points and 4.2 rebounds. Now that Xavier Tillman Sr. and David Roddy have been traded, Jackson should see even more playing time. He and Wiggins both have the potential to provide value.

Top PF Options:

  1. Lauri Markkanen vs. GS, ($8,400 DK; $8,800 FD)
  2. GG Jackson II vs. NO, ($5,200 DK; $6,100 FD)
  3. Andrew Wiggins at UTA, ($5,100 DK; $5,800 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Nikola Vucevic is another member of the Bulls who has stepped up with Zach LaVine (foot) having been lost for the season. Across his last 15 games, he has averaged 19.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks. Helping his cause Monday is that Clint Capela (thigh) will be out for the Hawks.

The Pacers have a great matchup against the Hornets, who have the worst defensive rating in the league. However, since they could blow them out, their starters are risky. One to still consider taking a chance on is Myles Turner, who could thrive with the Hornets’ lack of size up front.

Daniel Gafford made an immediate impact in his debut for the Mavericks, providing 19 points and nine rebounds over 17 minutes off the bench. He could play more against his former team, who is basically down to Marvin Bagley III at center.

Top C Options:

  1. Nikola Vucevic at ATL, ($7,900 DK; $8,500 FD)
  2. Myles Turner at CHA, ($6,100 DK; $7,000 FD)
  3. Daniel Gafford vs. WAS, ($5,600 DK; $6,800 FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Wizards at Mavericks (248 total)
  2. Warriors at Jazz (240.5 total)
  3. Pacers at Hornets (238.5 total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. Stay away from the 76ers, who will take on a Cavaliers team that has the second-best defensive rating in the league.
  2. I want no part of Jordan Poole, who has averaged just 10.9 points over his last 10 games.
  3. Zion Williamson (foot) is listed as questionable against the Grizzlies. Even if he plays, it could be an opportunity for the Pelicans to limit his minutes against an inferior opponent.
