ANALYSIS: Demario Douglas got his first opportunity to play regular snaps last week and he made the most of them. In Week 7, he finished with six targets, four receptions, 54 receiving yards, and chipped in a rushing attempt for 20 yards. The New England passing offense has been stagnant for most of the year, so it seemed like only a matter of time before they gave their rookie, who performed really well in the preseason a chance to make a difference. This past weekend, he actually led the receivers in snaps, routes run, and targets. Some of that was likely due to the injury to Kendrick Bourne, but he could be out for considerable time.
Bourne was ruled out with a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. He played 10 more snaps, had seven more routes run, and earned four more targets than the next closest receiver other than Bourne. He finished with five receptions for 25 yards and chipped in another rushing attempt for four yards. He's best suited in PPR scoring leagues and Douglas could have WR4 value.
