DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/14/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Tyler Glasnow - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on August 14, 2023. Casey Wilson's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We're back at it on a Monday after a fantastic trip to OBX with the family for a vacation. I want to thank Dan Palyo and Tommy Bell for covering my articles last week. I have been really into DFS lately, so I added my chart to the article today, which I will explain later. We have a fun little slate here with some saturated offenses I want to get exposure to and a slam dunk SP1.

I will cover the eight-game slate starting at 7:10 pm in this article. I love tonight's slate. There are four stacks tonight that I will be playing between the two sites, which makes building lineups very easy. We have a Coors Field slate in which Chris Flexen will pitch for the Rockies, so I expect some low ownership to be found in other places tonight.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/14/2023 and the slate locking at 7:10 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

I have decided to post my charts throughout the article that I have been using for DFS. I want to quickly explain the color coding and bolding so you can understand better. That is an elite play if you see bold capital letters and green. Bold letters with green are a great play. Bold letters with yellow is a good play. Bold letters with white are to be used to round out lineups. Letters that are not bold are to be used in MME only for player pools or to round out stacks in a single entry.

Tyler Glasnow, TB at SF ($10,800 DK, $10,700 FD)

Tonight’s slate has some excellent name value at pitching. I want to start with the top option on the board, Tyler Glasnow. On the season, Glasnow has a 2.99 SIERA, 34.5% K%, and 17.9% SwStr%. In the previous seven starts, Glasnow has been elite. In that span, Glasnow has a 2.42 SIERA, 37.3% K%, and a 19.6% SwStr%. He is the best pitching option on the board tonight, and it’s not close.

Glasnow will take on the San Fransisco Giants tonight on the road. The Giants own a 24.9% K% against right-hand pitching. They hold a 94 wRC+, .308 wOBA, .390 SLG, and an 8.9% BB%. Over the last 30 days, the Giants own a 25.6% K%, 71 wRC+, .273 wOBA, .334 SLG, and 9.0% BB%. There is massive upside in this spot for Glasnow to rack up strikeouts and limit damage pitching deep into the game. With question marks around the other big names on this slate, I am locking in Glasnow as my SP1.

Brady Singer, KC vs. SEA ($7,900 DK, $9,100 FD)

I want to start by saying there is a tiny gap for me behind Glasnow with the following four arms I have listed. I will lock Glasnow in on FanDuel and DraftKings and play an SP2 after I set the rest of my bats on DraftKings. I could have easily written up any of the other three guys, but I have decided to go with Singer because of the price tier.

Singer has been on a resurgence since the all-star break. Since the break, he has a 3.62 SIERA, 21.5% K%, 10.8% SwStr%, and a 3.8% BB%. Over his last four starts, it’s been even better. He has a 3.25 SIERA, 27.0% K%, 11.6% SwStr%, and a 5.0% BB%. He has also faced the Yankees, Twins, Mets, and Red Sox in that span. I’m going to ride his hot streak tonight against the strikeout-friendly Mariners, and at the moment, he is my favorite SP2 on the board.

Also consider: Max Scherzer, Logan Gilbert, Miles Mikolas

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Francisco Lindor - SS, NYM vs. Quinn Priester ($5,100 DK, $3,600 FD)

Lindor and the Mets are in a great spot tonight against the rookie Quinn Priester. Priester has allowed a .466 wOBA, .280 ISO, and 47.6% hard hit to left-handed batters this season. Lindor, since July 1, has been on a tear. In that span against right-hand pitching, he has a 200 wRC+, .461 wOBA, and a .642 SLG. Priester's only strength this season has been keeping the ball on the ground, but Lindor has a 45.4% FB%. Look for Frankie to stay hot in this spot.

Nolan Gorman - 2B/3B, STL vs. JP Sears ($4,300 DK, $3,200 FD)

The Cardinals will get some ownership here tonight against JP Sears, and justifiable as this team dominates right-hand pitching. I love the stack, so I will eat the chalk, but I will start my lineups with what should be a low-owned Nolan Gorman. Gorman has been cracking the lineup against left-hand pitching lately and has an elite matchup with Sears.

Over the last 30 days, Sears has a .668 wOBA, .667 ISO, and a 53.3% hard hit against lefties. Gorman, this season has been the best bat against the split for this Cardinals team. He owns a 145 wRC+, a .382 wOBA, and a .518 SLG. Since July 1, he has a 179 wRC+, .433 wOBA, and a .567 SLG. Do not be afraid to play the lefties, including Lars Nootbaar, in this spot to get different with your Cardinals stacks.

Gabriel Moreno - C, ARZ vs. Chris Flexen ($2,500 DK, $2,400 FD)

The Diamondbacks will travel to Coors Field to start their series with the Rockies tonight. Chris Flexen will get the ball for the Rockies and has been downright awful this season. He has always shown reverse splits in his career, and this season is no different. He owns a .492 wOBA, .457 ISO, and a 54.8% hard hit against righties over the last 30 days. Since July 1, Moreno has been the Rockies' best bat against the split. He has a 152 wRC+, a .400 wOBA, and a .500 SLG. I love Moreno on both sites, where the price and ownership make him an elite play tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Michael Harris II - OF, ATL vs. Clarke Schmidt ($4,400 DK, $3,200 FD)

Night in and night out, when the Braves face a righty, Michael Harris is my favorite play on this team. He’s always under-owned because of his position in the lineup. His production since the All-Star break has been elite. Since July 1, Harris has owned a 138 wRC+, a .379 wOBA, and a .515 SLG. Schmidt has been susceptible to left-handed bats all season. He has been hit to a .347 wOBA, .227 ISO, and a 62.2% hard hit. I love the lefties in this lineup for the Braves tonight but none more than Michael Harris II.

Tyler O’Neill - OF, STL vs. JP Sears ($3,700 DK, $2,500 FD)

Tyler O’Neill has recently found his grove against left-hand pitching since re-joining the Cardinals. Since July 1, he has a 207 wRC+, .475 wOBA, and a .684 SLG. Sears is more vulnerable to lefties but has allowed a .312 wOBA, .167 ISO, and a 57.1% hard hit against righties over the last 30 days. The price is right, making O’Neill one of my favorite values on the board tonight.

Tommy Pham - OF, ARZ vs. Chris Flexen ($3,800 DK, $3,300 FD)

Let’s stick to the reverse splits of Chris Flexen with our last play today with Tommy Pham. Pham has struggled a bit since joining the Diamondbacks at the deadline, but before the deal, he had a career year with the Mets. Before the trade, he posted a 121 wRC+, a .342 wOBA, and a .431 SLG. There’s no better way to get right than against Chris Flexen in Coors Field for Tommy Pham. I expect him to have a big game with an excellent price tag tonight.
