Top Hitter Streamers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 21

Mike Tauchman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 20 of the 2023 season. Dawn Tepper analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up.

Welcome to another week of sifting through top hitter streamers, RotoBallers! We are looking ahead at the top hitter streamers and starts for fantasy baseball Week 21 -- Monday, August 14 through Sunday, August 20. For those new to this series, each week, our fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

When you find yourself with a hole in your roster due to injury or otherwise, you need to find a week's worth of solid production from a new addition to your roster. That's where streaming comes in. Today, we will review potential hitters to stream in Week 20. Let's see which ones make the list.

We look into some hitters playing in most games and have favorable matchups to help you stay at the top as the season progresses. As always, check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content after you read this piece!

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

There are six teams playing seven games between Monday, August 14, and Sunday, August 20:

  • San Diego Padres
  • Kansas City Royals
  • Seattle Mariners
  • New York Mets
  • Arizona Diamondbacks
  • St. Louis Cardinals

Best Sub-50% Rostered Hitters For This Week

There are two series at Coors Field next week: Chicago White Sox and the Arizona Diamondbacks. We have a few other hitter-friendly parks in play this week: Kauffman Stadium, Wrigley Field, Nat's Park, Target Field, and Great American Ballpark. The White Sox play five games in two of the best parks for bats, with two at Wrigley and three at Coors Field. The Mets play four games against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium, the seventh-best park for hitters this season.

The Mariners play seven games next week, four at Kauffman Stadium against the Royals and versus three out of four right-handed pitchers. Against righties in the last 30 days, Seattle is slashing .250/.326/.453 with a 114 wRC+. What really stands out is their ISO during that time: .203 versus .141 for the season. Let's dig in!

Week 20 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Jeff McNeil, 2B, OF - NY Mets (50% Rostered)

The Mets play four games at Busch Stadium next week, where lefty McNeil will face three out of four right-handed Cardinal pitchers. The Mets haven't been very amazing lately, losing four of their last five, but during that time, McNeil has a .300/.333/.500 slash line with six hits, one RBI, and a home run.

Since July 21, McNeil has started to turn things around. Since then, he's had five multi-hit games, slashing .290/.364/.435 with 20 hits, 12 runs, and 10 RBI. Look for the lefty to continue on this path this week and help the Mets get back on track.

Mike Tauchman, OF, Chicago Cubs (44% Rostered)

Tauchman and the Cubs are home all week, where they are slashing .265/.341/.433, and in 28 games post-All-Star break, they are .286/.360/.497. They have a 124 wRC+ and .230 ISO and have won seven of their last ten games. Yes, the bats are hot!

For the regular season, Tauchman is .278/.374/.430, and in his last ten games, he has a .313 batting average with 10 hits, one home run, four RBI, and six runs scored. He's been everyone's favorite Cubbie lately and is in the leadoff spot tonight versus Toronto. I'm expecting more fireworks from Tauchman and the Cubs this week. Roster him with confidence.

Freddy Fermin, C - Kansas City Royals (15% Rostered)

Not Freddie Freeman; Freddie Fermin (pronounced fur-MEEN)! This season, righty Ferman is slashing .307/.341/.534 with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Kansas City is facing Seattle in four games next week, facing all right-handed pitchers. Guess who has reverse splits and is slashing.317/.346/.533 versus right-handed pitchers? You guessed it; Freddie Fermin.

Nolan Jones, 1B, OF - Colorado Rockies (30% Rostered)

Jones and the Rockies are home for all six of their games next week and are facing all right-handed pitchers. Lefty Jones is slashing .272/.354/.495 for the season, .235/.263/.706 in the last five games with two home runs and four RBI.

At home, the Rockies have a .266/.325/.433 slash line, and versus righties, they are batting .255/.317/.405. In 54 games versus righties, Jones is slashing .272/.363/.500 with 82 home runs and 358 RBI. In the last two weeks, he is .346/.400/.577 versus right-handed pitchers with a home run and five RBI. Those slugging numbers got me wondering about his ISO for the season. I took a look, and guess what? He has a .223 ISO. The man is getting his bases. Grab him while you can!

Eddie Rosario, OF - Atlanta Braves (15% Rostered)

Atlanta has been another hot team, winning six of their last ten and slashing .275/.344/.502 for the season. They will be at home all next week, facing five out of six right-handed pitchers.

Lefy Rosario will be plenty busy next week versus all the righties, and over the past 30 days, he is slashing .275/.379/.654 with two home runs and eight RBI. With Sam Hilliard on the Injured List and re-injuring himself during his rehab assignment, Rosario will be popular next week. You can add him to the roster with confidence.
