Mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings for Week 18 (2023). Free agent hitters and pitchers to add include Christian Encarnacion-Strand, CJ Abrams, Chas McCormick, Aroldis Chapman, and Matt Manning.

Welcome RotoBallers to our mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings list for Week 18 - July 17 through July 23 to help you stay on top of the waiver wire, especially in leagues that allow daily moves. The Reds called up top prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand on Monday. He went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 11-10 loss to the Giants. Baltimore Orioles' top pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez was recalled on Monday. The 23-year-old allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings. Pittsburgh recently called up starting pitcher Quinn Priester and catcher Endy Rodriguez, both of who made their MLB debuts earlier in the week. Seattle calls up outfielder Cade Marlowe from Triple-A Tacoma Thursday. Top prospects such as Landon Knack, Ceddanne Rafaela, Colt Keith, Matt Mervis, Ronny Mauricio, and Connor Norby patiently await the call to the big leagues.

Some notable recent performances include Houston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick, who has homered four times over his last four games. The 28-year-old is hitting .550 (11-for-20) with four homers, eight RBI, and nine runs across his last 26 plate appearances. Since the calendar flipped to July 1, Washington Nationals infielder CJ Abrams is slashing .364/.417/.545 with a home run, three RBI, 13 runs, and nine stolen bases over 14 games. In his last two starts, Detroit Tigers right-hander Matt Manning owns a 0.73 ERA, 0.57 WHIP, and an 8:3 K: BB across 12 1/3 innings.

This week's waiver wire rankings feature players such as Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Grayson Rodrguez, CJ Abrams, Aroldis Chapman, Tyler Soderstrom, Chas McCormick, Zack Gelof, Adbert Alzolay, Lars Nootbaar, James Outman, Nick Pivetta, Kerry Carpenter, Cade Marlowe, Matt Manning, rank among others. We're here, as always, to help you stay on top of the latest waiver wire options, especially in leagues that allow for daily moves. Prospects continue to be called up that are making impacts, so you'll need to be informed. Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups List

For anyone who isn't familiar, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we release all sorts of fantasy baseball waiver wire articles. As part of that, Nick Mariano releases our waiver wire rankings list on Sundays to help you prioritize which players to target as free agent adds off waivers.

In addition to that, we are also putting out a second waiver wire rankings list mid-week. Since many fantasy baseball leagues have daily waiver wire moves or multiple waiver wire runs per week for adding players, this mid-week rankings list should help you keep track of players emerging in the middle of the week before we reach Sunday.

Below you will see our list of waiver wire pickups in our prioritized order. There should be waiver wire recommendations here for all sorts of league sizes, along with the position(s) for the player and the rostered percentages.
