XFL Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 6: QB, RB, WR, TE Rankings and Analysis (2023)

Five weeks down. Five weeks to go. The XFL season has reached the midway point and fantasy studs have fully emerged. However, we know second-half breakouts, QB changes, target share discrepancies, and injuries will cause shifts in rankings and usage for plenty of fantasy and DFS-relevant XFL skill players.

We're back with Our Week 6 XFL fantasy football rankings to help fantasy and DFS gamers succeed as we head into the second-half stretch of the alternative league. Touches, targets, and productivity trends will weigh heavily in our rankings. These positional XFL rankings are a team effort, combing the rankings and analysis of three rankers:

If you haven't quite found the success you hoped for during the first half of the year, our rankings should be better than ever. Keep at it!

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers won two writing awards and received 12 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. A big congrats to our very own Byron Lindeque (Golf) and Jordan McAbee (NASCAR) for both winning Writer Of The Year awards! Be sure to follow RotoBaller's analysis and advice all year long, and win more. Win More With RotoBaller!

Quarterback XFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Rankings and analysis by Jackson Sparks

Rank Player Name Team
1 Ben DiNucci Seattle Sea Dragons
2 Luis Perez Vegas Vipers
3 Brandon Silvers Houston Roughnecks
4 AJ McCarron St. Louis Battlehawks
5 Jordan Ta'amu DC Defenders
6 Jack Coan/Reid Sinnett San Antonio Brahmas
7 Quinten Dormady/Paxton Lynch Orlando Gaurdians
8 Kyle Sloter Arlington Rengades
9 D'Eriq King DC Defenders

Ben DiNucci draws a matchup with the 0-5 Orlando Guardians, who have allowed more than 30 points per game through five weeks. He leads the XFL in passing yards (1,328) and Seattle's offense is a pass-first attack. Any high-end QB who faces Orlando will have a claim for the No. 1 spot in the rankings.

Luis Perez was benched for Brett Hundley early in the season, but he's back and looks the part of a top-three fantasy and DFS QB. Perez torched the struggling Guardians to the tune of 269 passing yards and three passing touchdowns last week. He should continue to find success in a matchup with the up-and-down St. Louis Battlehawks.

Brandon Silvers underwhelmed in the loss to the Sea Dragons but still posted 277 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He is tied with AJ McCarron for the league lead with 11 touchdown passes. Both are fixtures in the top four in our rankings, despite Silver's "meh" performance.

Jordan Ta'amu rushed for 89 yards in Week 4 but totaled just 113 total yards in the Defenders' 28-20 victory over the Battlehawks in Week 5. The Defenders are undefeated so their recipe is clearly working, but Ta'amu has become more of a game manager than anything. Still, his rushing upside places him above some of the riskier starting quarterbacks in the league.

Jack Coan had a solid start to his XFL career, but he's passed for just over 100 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions over his last two games. Reid Sinnett came in for him in Week 5, delivering 97 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Brahmas' 12-10 loss to the Renegades. Whichever quarterback starts in Week 6 will be a low-end fantasy option for a struggling offense.

Paxton Lynch had his best game of the season with 267 yards passing, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in Week 4, but struggled again in Week 5 and was benched for Quinten Dormady. Dormady threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions and put a season-high 32 points on the board. It would be surprising if Dormady isn't the Week 6 starter against Seattle.

Kyle Sloter is now starting over Drew Plitt, but after throwing zero touchdowns and four interceptions in his last two games, that might not last long.

Running Back XFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Rankings and analysis by Andrew Lennox

Rank Player Name Team
1 Abram Smith DC Defenders
2 Brian Hill St. Louis Battlehawks
3 Morgan Ellison Seattle Sea Dragons
4 DeVeon Smith Arlington Renegades
5 Rod Smith Vegas Vipers
6 Max Borghi Houston Roughnecks
7 Jah-Maine Martin Orlando Guardians
8 Jacques Patrick San Antonio Brahmas
9 Kalen Ballage San Antonio Brahmas
10 Brycen Alleyne Houston Roughnecks
11  John Lovett Vegas Vipers
12 Kenneth Farrow Arlington Renegades
13 Ryquell Armstead DC Defenders
14 Mataeo Durant St. Louis Battlehawks
15 Devin Darrington Orlando Guardians

While injuries have hindered Seattle's Morgan Ellison in recent weeks, he has nevertheless managed to maintain a productive season, currently ranking third in rushing with 254 yards on 52 attempts. Ellison and the Sea Dragons are going to face the winless Orlando Guardians, who have surrendered the most points in the league.

In Week 5, Abram Smith had an impressive game by rushing for 218 yards on 23 carries and scoring three touchdowns, ultimately leading his team to victory against St. Louis. As the league's top rusher, he faces a formidable defense in the Houston Roughnecks in Week 6. However, given the Defenders' position as the league's leading rushing offense, Smith is expected to remain productive despite the challenge.

After missing Week 4 due to a knee injury, Max Borghi made a return to the field in Week 5. Although he only managed to rush for 12 yards on six carries, the running back showcased his versatility as a dual threat by recording five receptions for 21 yards. As the Houston offense prepares to go against the undefeated Defenders, it remains to be seen how they will fare after struggling against Seattle in their previous matchup. Nevertheless, Borghi is expected to maintain his significant role within the Roughneck's offensive strategy.

Arlington is set to play San Antonio for the second consecutive week with hopes of achieving a season sweep. In their previous matchup during Week 5, the Renegades managed to rush for a total of 119 yards. DeVeon Smith is anticipated to once again receive the bulk of the carries after rushing for 44 yards on 19 carries against the Brahmas in their last encounter.

Brian Hill has maintained a consistent performance throughout the season, boasting an average of 5.2 yards per carry. In Week 5, he carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards, proving his continued value to the team. With Vegas having conceded 32 points to Orlando just a week ago, Hill may have an opportunity to shine during their upcoming game on Saturday.

Following his performance in Week 5, where he rushed for 62 yards on 18 carries, Rod Smith has climbed this week's rankings. In Week 6, he will go against a St. Louis defense that recently surrendered 248 rushing yards to DC in their previous matchup.

Wide Receiver XFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Rankings and analysis by Brant Henson

Rank Player Name Team
1 Jahcour Pearson Seattle Sea Dragons
2 Blake Jackson Seattle Sea Dragons
3 Hakeem Butler St. Louis Battlehawks
4 Josh Gordon Seattle Sea Dragons
5 Travell Harris Houston Roughnecks
6 Jeff Badet Vegas Vipers
7 Damion Willis Seattle Sea Dragons
8 Cody Latimer Orlando Guardians
9 Deontay Burnett Houston Roughnecks
10 Charleston Rambo Orlando Guardians
11 Jordan Veasy Seattle Sea Dragons
12 Darrius Shepherd St. Louis Battlehawks
13 Jalen Tolliver San Antonio Brahmas
14 Juwan Green Seattle Sea Dragons
15 Lucky Jackson D.C. Defenders
16 Austin Proehl St. Louis Battlehawks
17 Lance Lenoir Orlando Guardians
18 Fred Brown San Antonio Brahmas
19 Cinque Sweeting Vegas Vipers
20 Justin Smith Houston Roughnecks
21 T.J. Vasher San Antonio Brahmas
22 Cedric Byrd Houston Roughnecks
23 Brandon Arconado Arlington Renegades
24 Tyler Vaughns Arlington Renegades
25 Geronimo Allison Vegas Vipers
26 Chris Blair D.C. Defenders
27 Mathew Sexton Vegas Vipers
28 Ben Putman Houston Roughnecks
29 Josh Hammond D.C. Defenders
30 Eli Rogers Orlando Guardians
31 Steven Mitchell St. Louis Battlehawks
32 Caleb Vander Esch Arlington Renegades
33 Darece Roberson San Antonio Brahmas
34 Deddrick Thomas Orlando Guardians
35 Travis Toivonen San Antonio Brahmas
36 Lujuan Winningham Arlington Renegades
37 Jequez Ezzard D.C. Defenders

You should all be salivating at the opportunity to fire up any Seattle Sea Dragon receiver this week. Orlando continues to surrender points and yards at a league-high rate, and Seattle’s strong passing attack is certain to take advantage of that. You can’t go wrong with Jahcour Pearson ever, and Blake Jackson and Josh Gordon are always in strong consideration to be placed in lineups, but this week Damion Willis, Jordan Veasy, and Juwan Green should get heavy consideration as well. All six players have the potential for a massive week.

On the other side of the ball, Quinten Dormady should be airing it out for Orlando. Cody Latimer should be locked into lineups but don’t overlook Charleston Rambo or Lance Lenoir. All three receivers should see volume.

In injury news, Marcell Ateman and Jontre Kirklin have been placed on the injured reserve. Ateman has underwhelmed this season and won’t have much of an impact fantasy-wise with Hakeem Butler dominating in St. Louis, but Kirklin is a huge loss for Houston after being one of the hottest receivers this year. Look to Travell Harris and Deontay Burnett to step up and see a more consistent target share in his absence.

Jalen Tolliver did not play last week and his status is currently unknown. If he doesn’t go, expect Fred Brown (nine targets last week) and T.J. Vasher (one touchdown last week) to step up although the Arlington-San Antonio rematch is not juicy for fantasy.

Tight End XFL Fantasy Football Rankings

For the fifth time in as many weeks, the tight end position was deafeningly quiet. Consider any player below Alize Mack to have essentially no fantasy floor.

Rankings and analysis by Jackson Sparks

Rank Player Name Team
1 Sal Canella Arlington Renegades
2 Alize Mack San Antonio Brahmas
3 Ethan Wolf DC Defenders
4 Logan Carter Orlando Guardians
5 Jake Sutherland St. Louis Battlehawks
6 Brandon Dillon Vegas Vipers
7 Deon Yelder San Antonio Brahmas
8 Nate Becker Arlington Renegades
9 Garrett Owens Houston Roughnecks
10 Alex Ellis DC Defenders
11 Ryan Becker Orlando Guardians
12 Travis Koontz Vegas Vipers

Through five weeks, Sal Canella continues to lead all tight ends in targets (36), receptions (26), and receiving yards (213). Unfortunately, his high usage hasn't translated to nuclear fantasy performances, but he's still far and away the locked-in TE1.

Alize Mack caught 13 of his 18 targets for 113 yards and one receiving touchdown in Weeks 1 through 4. In Week 5, he saw just two targets, catching one for five yards. The Brahmas' QB situation is uncertain, so his floor and ceiling could be impacted. That said, he's still the TE2 given the scarcity of production at the position.

Ethan Wolf has a strong case to be the season-long TE3, but he missed Week 4 and Week 5. If he plays, he should return to the ranks as the TE3. If he's out, Alex Ellis can be played as a desperation tight end play. Ellis has one reception on two targets for 11 yards this season.

Logan Carter drew a season-high four targets in the Week 4 loss to the Vipers. He caught three of them for 31 yards -- good for the second-best TE performance of the week (yes, seriously). If Quinten Dormady takes over for Paxton Lynch at QB, perhaps Carter will see more targets, and even more importantly, accurate targets.
