DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/9/23): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on March 9, 2023. Mike Marteny provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

This six-game slate is already loaded with out and questionable tags. The good news is that I can point you to some early values, but the uncertainty surrounding some of the higher-priced guards is going to keep us guessing until tipoff. The NBA wouldn't have it any other way, right?

With both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates accordingly to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 3/9/23. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Tyrese Haliburton - vs. HOU (FD: $10,200, DK: $9,800)

Both of these team play a patented olé defense, which should mean a very high-scoring game. Haliburton's calf appears to be fine. He played both games of a back-to-back earlier this week, putting up 129 DraftKings points in the process. The ceiling is still that high against a perpetually tanking Rockets team.

Mikal Bridges - at MIL (FD: $9,000, DK: $8,500)

Both Spencer Dinwiddie and Cameron Johnson have already been ruled out. That leaves Bridges, Seth Curry, and Edmond Sumner to handle the backcourt. I love Sumner as a value play, but not as much as I like Bridges to put up big numbers once again. He has at least 43 DraftKings points in three straight and five of the last six. I'm going for six of the last seven here.

Kris Dunn - at ORL (FD: $5,600, DK: $5,700)

I like Tyus Jones with Morant out, but wow, that price is off-putting. I'm expecting closer to last game's output than the 60+ he put up in the first game with Ja out. I like the stability of Dunn against an interesting, but still not very good, Orlando team. If Jrue Holiday is ruled out again, it's an easy pivot to Jevon Carter, but as it stands now, I'll take the sure 5.5x value that Dunn provides with Conley gone and Sexton out. If Clarkson somehow comes back, I'll make a third pivot to an Orlando guard.

Also consider: De'Aaron Fox (FD: $9,500, DK $9,400); Jalen Green (FD: $6,800, DK $6,400); Dennis Smith Jr. (DK only: $4,700)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Lauri Markkanen - at ORL (FD: $9,200, DK: $9,600)

The Utah offense has run through Markkanen since he got to Salt Lake City. I don't see that changing now. He is almost an automatic double-double every night and should have some fun with the Orlando frontcourt. He dropped 50 fantasy points on them in the first meeting despite a disappointing 4-for-13 from the floor in that game. Considering his shot volume has topped 20 in six of the last eight games, that's a pretty high ceiling tonight.

Kelly Oubre Jr. - at DET (FD: $8,000, DK: $7,500)

There are a few really good spots tonight and I'm not going to miss out on this one. The Hornets have some volume shooters on this team and they need them all with LaMelo Ball out for the season. Oubre is just the one that I trust more than the others. He had one huge game against the Pistons back in December and a pedestrian effort against them in his last game with a minutes limit after he returned from injury in February. I'll side with the December game and expect another good night out of Oubre.

Jordan Nwora - vs. HOU (FD: $5,100, DK: $4,100)

Nwora has scored in double figures in five straight games as Indiana continues to fight (or hide behind?) many injuries. The guards are all healthy now and so is the frontcourt aside from a questionable Aaron Nesmith. If Nesmith returns, it's an easy pivot to Livers on either site. If Nesmith remains out, I'll trust Nwora and his current string of strong games.

Also consider: Giannis Antetokounmpo (FD: $12,200, DK: $11,900), RJ Barrett (FD: $6,900, DK: $7,000), Isaiah Livers (FD: $4,200, DK $4,600)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Walker Kessler - at ORL (FD: $8,000, DK: $6,900)

I really like Kessler on DK, but we all know the point discrepancy for defensive stats on FD compared to DK. He's worth the price over there too. Kessler has at least 32 DraftKings points in six straight games. If he's in the lineup for the Jazz, he should be in yours as well, especially with that absurdly low price on DK.

James Wiseman - vs. CHA (FD: $6,800, DK: $5,700)

The poor play of Marvin Bagley in smash spots lately has opened the door for Wiseman and he has busted through it like the Kool-Aid Man. Oh Yeah! Wiseman only missed three of his 13 shots from the floor last game, and as long as he stays out of foul trouble, he should be in line for a monster game against Charlotte. The Hornets have struggled against centers all season.

Also consider: Alperen Sengun (FD: $7,400, DK: $7,500); Xavier Tillman (FD: $6,000, DK $5,900)
