It's bowl season! If you haven't watched much college football this year, this is your last chance to see all these teams. And if you're an NFL fan, it's a chance to watch some players who could end up playing on Sunday, either next year or in the future.
Today we're looking at the Independence Bowl, which pits Houston against Louisiana.

Tank Dell - WR - Houston
Dell, one of my favorite receivers in all of college football, has already declared for the draft, but he reportedly intends to play in Friday's game.
Dell's just such an exciting player. Whether he gets the ball on a punt return or he's running a deep route, or you're getting him the ball in space and seeing what happens—he does stuff. In particular, his breakaway speed makes him an appealing prospect. He's also a shifty runner. Probably a Day Three pick, but could go as early as Day Two depending on how the pre-draft process goes.
Dell has a pair of 1,300-yard seasons on his resume, and has caught 27 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
Gervarrius Owens - S - Houston
Both teams have some intriguing safety plays in this game. Let's start on the Houston side with Gervarrius Owens.
The 6-0 safety has spent four seasons with the Cougars, picking off four passes during that time. He had 70 tackles this past season, the highest mark of his career, as well as eight pass defenses. He's a good tackler who should hear his name called during the 2023 NFL Draft.
Kam Pedescleaux - S - Louisiana
On the Louisiana side, two of the more interesting prospects—wide receiver Michael Jefferson and defensive end Andre Jones—have already opted out of this one. But we should get to see safety Kam Pedescleaux against a high-powered Houston offense.
Pedescleaux played four seasons for the Ragin' Cajuns, including a career-high 66 tackles this past season. He recorded three interceptions during his time in Lafayette. While he's a little undersized, his tackling ability should get him into an NFL training camp, at least.
