BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 19% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: After playing football for the last time in Week 4, Jarvis Landry returned to the field this past Sunday with the New Orleans Saints. Call it rust, or call it what you want, but the performance wasn't nearly otherworldly from the veteran wideout. Even then, though, Landry was trusted from the get-go and used as the number 1 option on offense which definitely bodes well for him ROS.
All the way back in Week 1 Jarvis Landry got 9 targets hauling in 7 of those for 114 receiving yards. That was playing only 44 snaps on a 72% snap share, and with Michael Thomas in the lineup (8 targets, 61% snap share). Both receivers got to share the field in W2 and W3 with Thomas getting the (much) better results.
Now back available, Landry has entered an offense that features just one truly good WR (rookie Chris Olave), one past-his-prime RB (Alvin Kamara), and a mess at the TE position (Juwan Johnson, Adam Trautman, Taysom Hill). Of course, with that being the actual chart, it made sense to look for Jarvis Landry's help.
Landry only caught 3-of-6 targets last Sunday while racking up 37 receiving yards for 6.7 PPR points, but the volume was nice enough to trust him going forward sharing the bulk of the load with fellow wideout and rookie Olave.
If Andy Dalton keeps starting then the Saints' pass catchers will have 30 tosses/20 receptions available weekly. If Winston comes back that might go up to 35/25. Landry is a proven and tested veteran and he should at least keep some WR3 value up ROS.
