DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Week 5 Daily College Fantasy Football - Saturday Late Night (10/1/22)

rachaad white fantasy football rookies rankings NFL draft sleepers running backs

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the Saturday Late Night Week 5 (10/1/22) slate. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

Had enough? I didn't think so! Our nightcap tonight is smaller than normal with most of the Mountain West and Pac 12 playing last night or in early games. That doesn't mean this is a garbage slate. Oh no! DraftKings left us with a couple of great ones here! I still wish they would have put the Sunday UCF-SMU game on here, but I'll still take what I can get.

We start off with USC hosting Arizona State. UCLA got the town to themselves last night, so USC takes it tonight. We close out in Eugene with Stanford heading up I-5 for what has becoming a very interesting series over the years. Stanford has won two out of the last three games in Eugene.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/1/22 locking at 10:30 pm eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Caleb Williams, USC ($9,100)

Williams had a rough game against the Beavers in Corvallis last Saturday, but still didn't turn the ball over. In fact, Williams hasn't turned it over in four games so far this season. That keeps the floor high. This high-powered USC offense will be back up to their old tricks against an Arizona State team that has struggled in just about every way a team can over the season's first month. This is the lowest Williams' price has been since the Stanford game in Week 2 and I plan to take advantage.

Bo Nix, Oregon ($6,200)

Forget the game against Georgia. It was the first game for Nix in an Oregon uniform and the Bulldogs remain one of the best teams around. Nix put up big numbers against both BYU and Washington State. Stanford's defense might be a little better than those, but not much. Nix feels like a lock to hit 30 DraftKings points again, which is a huge return for the price. If I only run one QB in a lineup, it will be Nix.

Also consider: Emory Jones, Arizona State ($8,000);  Tanner McKee, Stanford ($5,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Xazavian Valladay, Arizona State ($6,500)

The Trojans are giving up 171 rushing yards per game so far this year, but I fear that a negative game script could adversely affect Valladay's output. I know the talent is there. It always has been. The issue is that the Arizona State offense is going to have trouble keeping up in this one. Valladay found the going slow last week against Utah, but he still put up a respectable 9.9 DraftKings points thanks to his work in the passing game. There's enough upside to use him here.

Travis Dye, USC ($6,300)

Anything USC does, the Sun Devils can do worse. Yes, they have allowed even more yards on the ground per game than the Trojans have. Some of that is skewed by the monster day that Samson Evans had against them, but that wasn't a fluke. Dye ran for 133 on his old adversary in Corvallis last week. We should see another strong game from Dye even if this one gets out of hand.

Casey Filkins, Stanford ($3,500)

So...Filkins runs for 100 yards on Washington, E.J. Smith is ruled out for the remainder of the 2022 season, and his price goes down $500? Really, DraftKings? At least make us make some kind of a difficult decision here. I love the value, but so will everyone else. Filkins will likely be universally owned. If he's not, those people are the ones donating to our lineups every week.

Also consider: Bucky Irving, Oregon ($5,200); Austin Jones, USC ($4,500); Noah Whittington, Oregon ($3,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Elijah Badger, Arizona State ($7,400)

Just because we can afford Addison doesn't mean that we should. Badger is the target hog for the Sun Devils. All of the ASU receivers have had issues with drops this season, but Badger did much better last week against Utah. Badger has at least five receptions in every game against FBS opponents. He only has one touchdown, but the volume is there. More will come if he is able to get behind the USC secondary.

Michael Wilson, Stanford ($5,500)

Wilson's foot seems to be fine, thank you. He racked up 176 yards and 12 rushing yards up in Seattle and was about the only bright spot on the Stanford offense. Wilson is by far McKee's favorite target and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he is the leading receiver on the entire slate.

Troy Franklin, Oregon ($4,700)

Franklin has quickly become the favorite target of Bo Nix. He was instrumental in the comeback win in Pullman last week. The prices really wont matter on this slate. Don't worry if you have several thousand left over. Franklin is a WR1 and isn't even close to being priced like it.

Also consider: Jordan Addison, USC ($8,600); Mario Williams, USC ($6,800); Elijah Higgins, Stanford ($4,600); Benjamin Yurosek, Stanford ($3,400)
