Josh Donaldson Back From Injured List And Starting Friday
Josh Donaldson (shoulder) was activated from the injured list on Friday and is playing third base and batting cleanup against Detroit Tigers right-hander Elvin Rodriguez. Donaldson initially went on the injured list with a non-COVID illness and then dealt with right shoulder inflammation. He's been out since May 24 and received a cortisone injection in his shoulder. Donaldson should return to everyday duties at the hot corner, with DJ LeMahieu moving back to the keystone. The 36-year-old is facing a one-game suspension for an altercation with Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson before he landed on the IL. Donaldson is hitting .238/.349/.415 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 17 runs scored in 130 at-bats this season.
