Week 13 Fantasy Football Tight End Outlooks
Chig Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo (foot) finds himself on the injury report yet again in Week 13, and he was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. Okonkwo shouldn't have any problem playing through his foot injury this weekend against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars unless he suffers a setback in practice on Thursday or Friday. The 26-year-old is still looking for his first touchdown of the 2025 season and has not had much fantasy upside in one of the worst offenses in football while sharing targets with rookie TE Gunnar Helm.
Okonkwo has gone over 50 receiving yards in a game this year just three times in 11 games, although two of those instances have come in the last four games. Okonkwo will have less appeal as a TE2 streamer in fantasy football in Week 13 if rookie receiver Elic Ayomanor (hamstring) is able to return.
John FitzPatrick, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers tight end John FitzPatrick has seen his opportunity with the Packers grow as of late, but is still a player to leave out of fantasy lineups when the Packers head to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving. FitzPatrick has supplanted Luke Musgrave in terms of snap share and routes over the last two weeks for the Packers. Despite the increased snaps in the 60 percent range in each of the last two weeks for Green Bay, it's only turned into a combined two receptions and 16 yards on two targets.
FitzPatrick's role is not as a receiver, so expecting fantasy production out of the Packers' tight end may not be realistic. Leave FitzPatrick off of your fantasy rosters when the Packers play the Lions on Thanksgiving in Week 13.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce could feast in a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13. Kelce was third on the team in receiving yards last week against the Indianapolis Colts, but he's been one of the most productive tight ends in fantasy football this season. The veteran tight end is averaging 61.3 receiving yards per game this year, which would be third among tight ends, just behind Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. Kelce has enjoyed a resurgent season after a disappointing 2024 year from a production standpoint.
Kelce will now face a Cowboys defense that is middle-of-the-pack in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends this season, but he should find more success than most. The Cowboys offense should be able to put up points against the Kansas City defense, which would translate into more receiving opportunities for Kelce. Kelce is ranked TE5 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, making him a rock-solid TE1 start for Thanksgiving Day.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said "there's a chance" that tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) returns to play this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. However, Kincaid will not be at practice with the rest of the team on Wednesday. Kincaid is slowly improving, but he has not played since injuring his hamstring back in Week 10, and he's up in the air to return this weekend.
Without the 26-year-old on the field, Dawson Knox has failed to take advantage of his increased opportunities, catching only four passes on seven targets for 40 yards in the last two weeks. Kincaid is one of Buffalo's top pass-catchers this year, so they could really use him back for an important game against Pittsburgh, but he's going to need to get back on the practice field first. If Kincaid returns in Week 13, he'll be immediately back on the TE1 radar in fantasy.
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange returned from the Injured Reserve in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals and showed no signs of rust. He converted on all five of his targets for 93 receiving yards. Strange has always been a favorite target of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and given their history together, Strange provides a reasonable floor as a tight end in PPR formats. His upside will be limited by the cluttered pass-catching room that now includes Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle), Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Strange.
And while Lawrence is not the type of quarterback to make all of those pass-catchers a great fantasy play weekly, Strange's rapport with Lawrence provides a floor that makes him worth an add if you are struggling at the tight end position or lost Tucker Kraft (knee) or Sam LaPorta (back) to injury. Fantasy teams in a pinch, deep leagues, or even two flex spots can also consider Strange for that role. On the season, he's hauled in 25 of his 29 receptions for 297 yards in six games (one of which he was injured early on and did not return).
