ANALYSIS: Wil Myers has had quite the career since winning the AL Rookie of the Year award back in 2013. He has suffered multiple injuries which have cost him significant playing time, he was traded to the Padres and has been an all-around fantasy disappointment more often than not. All that baggage aside, Wil Myers is as talented as they come, and at age 25, has only the fragility of the human body to overcome to return to fantasy relevance.

So far in 2016, Myers has done just that. Playing in all 13 of the Padres' games, he is hitting .288 with two home runs and three RBI. If he can accumulate 500 or so at-bats, Myers could put together a very rewarding season for fantasy owners who bought in at his bottom barrel price to start the season. His power numbers are going to continue to be suppressed as a Padre--he has hit only three home runs in career 174 at-bats at Petco Park--but penciling in 15 home runs with 60 RBI and a batting average near .270 are reasonable expectations.

One disconcerting piece of information to note though. Myers' is exhibiting some wild walk and strikeout rates, way off from his career norms. With 19 strikeouts to two walks so far this season, his K% is 34.5% and his BB% is 3.6%. His career marks are 24.5% and 9.2%, respectively. If this is a real issue and not just a matter of a small sample size, it will become additionally difficult for Myers to meet even those penciled in expectations.
