Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff posted a solid but unspectacular line in his team's 30-17 Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 23 of 29 pass attempts for 203 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
The 31-year-old is having a highly efficient season so far, leading the NFL in completion percentage (75.9%) and touchdown passes (14) while averaging exactly eight yards per pass attempt. Goff could be a candidate to rejoin the ranks of must-start fantasy quarterbacks in single-QB formats in Week 7.
The Lions will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who rank 24th in the NFL in passing yards allowed (1,520) through six weeks.
Mac Jones, QB, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones (knee, oblique) will be under center in the Week 7 matchup versus Atlanta. With Brock Purdy (toe) still working his way back, Jones will get a chance to make amends for his two-interception showing in the recent loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
To be fair, the 27-year-old has played well enough throughout the 2025 campaign, tossing for 1,252 yards, six touchdowns, and three picks while completing 67.3% of his attempts. Unfortunately, the 49ers will be without Ricky Pearsall (knee). However, Jones will still have Christian McCaffrey, Kendrick Bourne, and Jauan Jennings in his arsenal. George Kittle (hamstring) will also make his return after being sidelined since the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
All things considered, the signal-caller may not be the safest fantasy option in single-quarterback setups against an improved Falcons defense. Still, with Sunday's contest anticipated to be one of the highest-scoring games on the Week 7 schedule, Jones can realistically be utilized by those participating in Superflex formats.
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett may be in line for another spot start while Kyler Murray (foot) remains questionable ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The fact that the Cardinals enter their bye week after this game could encourage them to be more cautious with Murray.
With that being said, Brissett did lead the Cardinals to their best output through the air in terms of both passing yards and touchdowns. The Packers are the fifth-ranked defense overall, but have given up at least 200 yards and two scores to quarterbacks in their last two games.
Murray still has a chance to play in this contest, but if Brissett is under center, fantasy managers in deeper leagues can look to Brissett to provide some value in tough situations.
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart will face his toughest test yet against the elite Denver Broncos defense, making him a risky QB2 for Week 7. Dart's fantasy value is propped up by his rushing, as he has posted over 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground in two of his three starts, accumulating 167 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the season.
However, the Broncos' pass defense is a massive concern, as they rank second in the NFL in points allowed per game (15.8) and are the second-worst matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, allowing only 11.62 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, Dart has been sacked seven times in three starts, and he will now face a Broncos team that leads the league with an astounding 30 sacks.
His mobility and willingness to run are his best hope for a decent floor, but the matchup's difficulty makes him hard to trust as a starting option.
Carson Wentz, QB, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has named veteran Carson Wentz (shoulder) as the team's starting quarterback for its Week 7 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Wentz suffered a shoulder injury in Week 5, but the team's Week 6 bye apparently gave him the time he needed to be ready for Week 7. Rapoport reports that Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle), who has not played since Week 2, is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain and will serve as the team's emergency third quarterback.
In three starts since McCarthy went down, Wentz has completed 69% of his passes for 759 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He profiles as a player for fantasy managers to avoid in Week 7, even in two-quarterback formats.
