Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football waiver wire outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider adding off waivers in Week 7:
Omar Cooper Jr., New York Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. caught six of seven targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in his return to the gridiron in Week 6. The 30th-overall pick from the 2026 NFL Draft missed the last four games with a high-ankle sprain, making it difficult for him to establish his role in a crowded receiver room.
But Cooper seized the opportunity with Adonai Mitchell (finger) ruled out for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Cooper in the coming weeks as he could maintain high short-term value as long as Mitchell is on the shelf.
Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. logged six carries, 18 rushing yards, two receptions, 27 receiving yards, and two total touchdowns during Sunday's Week 6 loss against the New Orleans Saints. The Giants completely shook up their backfield this week, carrying four active running backs and drastically altering how many touches each back handled.
The most seismic shift involved Cam Skattebo, who had zero carries and played less than 10% of the snaps. However, Tracy's upward trajectory is notable, too. As the Giants look for one running back to separate themselves from the rest, Tracy's two touchdowns on Sunday will help his case.
Managers should consider adding Tracy off the waiver wire in Week 7, but we'd want to see a little more consistent production from the 26-year-old before committing to him in fantasy lineups on a weekly basis.
Bam Knight, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight rushed for 80 yards on 15 carries during Sunday's Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Rams on the road. He also caught two passes for 15 receiving yards. With rookie Jeremiyah Love (ankle) inactive on Sunday, the expectation was that Tyler Allgeier would lead the backfield. While he did just barely lead the team in carries (18 to Knight's 15), he was far less productive in terms of rushing and receiving yards.
In fact, Allgeier averaged just 2.1 yards per carry, while Knight averaged 5.3 yards per carry. In terms of participation, Allgeier played 40 snaps and Knight played 32. Given that Knight drastically outperformed expectations and earned more touches as a result, we'd expect to see a similar backfield split against the Broncos in Week 7 if Love remains sidelined.
Jonah Coleman, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos rookie running back Jonah Coleman (ankle) is eligible to return from Injured Reserve ahead of the team's Week 7 matchup on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. Coleman has been out since he suffered an ankle injury in Week 2.
He carried the ball 10 times for 39 yards and a touchdown, while hauling in three receptions for 19 additional yards before leaving with his ankle injury in Week 2. Once healthy, Coleman should find his way into the backfield committee with J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey. The rookie back is an interesting stash candidate with his return to the field sooner rather than later.
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson handled a season-high 15 touches in Sunday's 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, benefiting from Kyle Monangai's (toe) second consecutive absence. Johnson rushed 13 times for 51 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 34 yards, although he also lost a fumble. He played 40% of Chicago's offensive snaps, with D'Andre Swift remaining the lead back.
Johnson has now accumulated 25 touches across the two games Monangai has missed, giving him a viable short-term fantasy role. Monangai remains week-to-week with turf toe, although head coach Ben Johnson said Friday that his recovery was trending in the right direction.
With the Bears facing New England on Thursday, Johnson is worth adding in leagues with at least 10 teams and could provide RB3/flex production if Monangai remains sidelined. He handled just five touches in Week 4, when Monangai rushed 30 times against the Jets.
Germie Bernard, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Germie Bernard made an early mistake, but was able to overcome it and help get his team the win during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie wideout hauled in 11 of his 12 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in the overtime victory. The rookie wideout made an early mistake in the first quarter, but redeemed himself by scoring the game-winning touchdown.
Bernard has now posted back-to-back 80-yard receiving games. The Steelers should continue to lean on Bernard in the passing game with Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) and Roman Wilson (finger) both sidelined. He figures to be a popular waiver wire addition ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
