Broncos wide receiver (WR) Tim Patrick is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Tim Patrick and the Denver Broncos were forced out of the schedule a week ago due to COVID reasons. It was something to fear, given that the pause might interrupt Patrick's two-game streak of hitting 14+ PPR points (14.3 and 23.3)... but far from it. Patrick led the Broncos receivers against New England, got the W, and put on another 14.1 PPR performance.

While Patrick's first two weeks weren't good at all (6.9 and 4.4 fantasy points), his usage hasn't changed that much but his production has stepped up a ton. It's been three consecutive games in which Patrick has caught four passes, and back-to-back matches in which he's topped 100 yards. Patrick is automatic at catching the ball (he had 16-of-21 receptions through Week 4) and although he could only finish with 4 catches on 8 targets yesterday, he still racked up 101 yards and only lacked scoring a touchdown.
Patrick's role in this slim Broncos offense is pretty clear, with the WR playing between 50 and 59 snaps in all of his five games and leading all teammates with 265 over second-place Jerry Jeudy's 229.
With Drew Lock back starting at QB, Patrick's upside will go a tick up. Denver has already passed his forced-bye and will now play 11 games without interruption. Patrick is still not a WR1, but you can very well consider him a WR2/FLEX weekly in any slightly deep league. Next weekend's matchup is not the best (Kansas City ranks 2nd in preventing WR fantasy points) but four 14th-or-worse defenses will come after that.
