BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 10% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Ah, feels good to have Russell Gage back on the gridiron after missing three games, folks. An ankle injury kept the wideout out of the Falcons rotation for three games, though Gage was able to benefit from an early bye week in the Falcons schedule this season so he shouldn't miss any of the upcoming 10 games still to be played barring injury. That's fantastic, and his 10-percent rostership is even better than that given this man's role in Atlanta's offense.
Truth be told, Gage was an afterthought in Week 1 when all he could get was 2 targets... of which he caught none even while playing 68% of the team's offensive snaps. Good for fantasy GMs, Gage got to play to much better levels in the second game of the year finishing with a low-but-healthy 7-5-28 receiving line. That amounted to just 7.8 PPR points, which is just not going to cut it even for those in deeper formats, but things changed for a recovered Gage this past Sunday.
Gage is coming off his best game of the season to date after putting up 16.7 PPR points on the fantasy board thanks to a 6-target, 4-reception, 67-yard, one-touchdown performance facing Miami on Sunday. The snap share stayed put at 63% so it's encouraging to see Gage doing his thing on a similar volume of targets and snaps played. Atlanta has a very top-heavy rotation at each position with Kyle Pitts manning the TE slot, Calvin Ridley as the go-to WR, and Cordarrelle Patterson as the main RB. Outside of those three, though, the options are thin, which plays in Gage's favor ROS. He should undoubtedly be the team's WR2 going forward if he can stay healthy, and he's still widely available as he just returned from his injury. Make sure to roster Gage before it's too late. Not a lock to finish WR2 weekly, but surely a viable WR3/Flex play every other Sunday.
