Yusei Kikuchi Activated From Injured List
3 years agoThe Seattle Mariners activated left-hander Yusei Kikuchi form the COVID-19 injured list on Monday, but he has decided to skip the All-Star game. Kikuchi was replaced on the American League roster by Tampa Bay Rays reliever Andrew Kittredge. The 30-year-old Japanese starter was put on the COVID-19 injured list on Sunday after he experienced COVID-19-related symptoms after his previous start against the New York Yankees. Kikuchi needed two negative tests to come off the IL. He's been the M's best pitcher in 2021, going 6-4 with a 3.48 ERA with 98 strikeouts and 34 walks in 98 1/3 innings over 16 starts. Kikuchi is 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA, 29 K's and 14 walks in his last five starts. His 11 quality starts this year are tied for the most by a lefty. Fantasy managers should be looking to start him in his first action of the second half.
