Yankees Reinstate Jose Trevino From Injured List
2 years agoThe New York Yankees reinstated catcher Jose Trevino (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned catcher Ben Rortvedt to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Trevino was immediately back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday, doing the catching and hitting eighth against Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. The 30-year-old catcher will split playing time behind the dish moving forward with Kyle Higashioka. Trevino was a first-time All-Star in 2022, but he is returning to a .219 batting average (21-for-96) with two doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 102 trips to the plate. He's really only worth rostering in two-catcher leagues.
