White Sox to Decide on Monday if Luis Robert Jr. Goes on Injured List
Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) feels on Monday and make the decision whether he'll return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers or land on the 10-day injured list, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. Robert is out of the lineup for the third straight game in Sunday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants after he was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with tightness in his left hamstring. Michael Taylor will make another start in center field and will bat eighth on Sunday against Giants right-hander Justin Verlander, and he will see even more playing time going into the All-Star break if Robert goes on the IL. Robert has 22 steals in 249 at-bats this year but is hitting just .185 with eight homers. It's unclear how this injury might affect his trade value with the July 31 deadline approaching.
