1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler (elbow) faced live hitters in a simulated game for the first time on Wednesday since having his second Tommy John surgery last year. It's a big step for Buehler, who is hoping to return for the Dodgers before the end of the 2023 season. After facing live hitters, he'll need to be cleared to go on a likely lengthy minor-league rehab assignment to build up his arm. The Dodgers would love to have the 29-year-old available in their starting rotation for a playoff run, but it remains to be seen if that will actually happen, especially coming off his second Tommy John procedure.
