Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Slimming Down
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. told the Dominican newspaper elCaribe that he's lost 32 pounds since he reported to summer camp. "I finished the season more or less and put that in mind. I started with the slow swing and when I lost 20 pounds I started feeling better," Guerrero said. He has cut out fatty foods and drinks nothing but water in the evening. Guerrero is also working out at the team's spring training facility where he's hitting, taking grounders and doing weight training. The 21-year-old continues to show raw power at the plate, but he hasn't quite delivered on the hype. Guerrero has slashed .269/.336/.442 with 24 home runs in his first 183 games. A lighter and more agile Guerrero might be able to move back to the hot corner, which would boost his fantasy stock heading into 2021.
