The Minnesota Vikings are hiring former Chicago Bears secondary coach Deshea Townsend as the team's new secondary coach. Townsend will join the defensive staff of newly-minted Vikings defensive coordinator Ed Donatell. Donatell and his staff will have their hands full as they try to revamp a Vikings defense that allowed 383.6 yards per game last year, the third-most in the league. The Vikings clearly saw something they liked in the Bears' defense last year as they also interviewed former Bears defensive coordinator Sean Desai for their own defensive coordinator role prior to hiring Donatell. The Bears' pass defense indeed excelled under Townsend last year, allowing just 191.6 passing yards per game, the third-fewest in the league.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerRead More News
