Tyler Anderson Optioned To Triple-A
6 years agoOne day after he got shelled once again, the Colorado Rockies have demoted lefty Tyler Anderson to Triple-A to work on his issues. Anderson has been absolutely dreadful so far this year, and per Elias Sports, Anderson is the first pitcher ever to allow five or more earned runs in his first five starts in a season while never pitching five or more innings. Anderson has never been a great pitcher, but he's usually been acceptably mediocre. He'll now be relegated to the minors to try to sort out what's going on. Reliever Yency Almonte was summoned to replace Anderson, but right-hander Jeff Hoffman is a more likely candidate to take over Anderson's roster spot. Hoffman has never been good at the major-league level, so no owners need to rush out to get him.
