Twins Give Chris Paddack A Three-Year Deal
2 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Minnesota Twins and right-hander Chris Paddack agreed to a three-year, $12.5 million deal on Friday as the two sides avoided salary arbitration. The Twins take care of the rest of his arbitration-eligible seasons and will pay him $2.5 million in 2023 and 2024 and $7.5 million in 2025. The deal also includes $2.5 million in incentives. The 27-year-old only made five starts for the Twins in 2022 before needing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. As such, fantasy managers can avoid him in mixed leagues in 2023 with him unlikely to return to Minnesota's rotation until the second half of the season. Paddack still needs to prove he's the same pitcher that he was in his rookie season with the San Diego Padres in 2019.
