Trevor Larnach Could Begin The Year In Minors
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach must demonstrate a lot in spring training in order to win a roster spot in 2023. The addition of infielder Donovan Solano means more time in the outfield for Joey Gallo and few designated hitter at-bats to go around. With the Twins roster being jam-packed, even a great spring from Larnach might not be enough if Alex Kirilloff (wrist) is healthy. If Larnach makes the Opening Day roster, he'll likely be a part-time DH and corner outfielder. It would be a surprise if both Kirilloff and Larnach are on the Opening Day roster together. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter has looked healthy this spring after having season-ending core-muscle surgery in June of last year. The former first-rounder still has plenty of pop, so he's worth a look in deep mixed leagues if he makes the roster in a part-time role.
