Travis d'Arnaud Getting A Day Off Tuesday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud, who returned from the concussion injured list on Monday, is getting a breather on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox. The Braves had an off day on Monday, so d'Arnaud will have to wait until Wednesday to return to Atlanta's starting lineup. The veteran backstop hasn't played since suffering a concussion on April 8. Once he returns, the 34-year-old backstop should split playing time behind the plate with Sean Murphy and at designated hitter with Marcell Ozuna. He has 11 hits in his first 33 at-bats (.333) this year with three doubles and five RBI. Murphy is catching and hitting cleanup on Tuesday, while Marcell Ozuna is serving as the DH and batting seventh against Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta.
