Filip Hronek Pulled by Concussion Spotter Friday
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek was removed from Friday's loss to the Carolina Hurricanes by a concussion spotter. Late in the third period, Hronek took an elbow to the head from Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov. Hronek finished a 4-3 overtime loss with four blocks and three hits in 24:33 of ice time. Across the season, the Czech blue-liner has racked up 29 blocks and 39 hits in 19 games. Offensively, he has contributed nine assists. The Canucks were already without Quinn Hughes (undisclosed) on Friday night, which could mean they may be missing their entire first defensive pairing for Sunday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Players like Marcus Pettersson and Tom Willander would then have additional fantasy value.
