Tony Gonsolin To Have Tommy John Surgery
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Monday that right-hander Tony Gonsolin (elbow) will have Tommy John surgery on Friday. No timetable has been given for his return, but it's now unlikely that he'll pitch at all in 2024. Fantasy managers already knew that Gonsolin wasn't going to pitch again for the Dodgers this year after they moved him to the 60-day injured list, and elbow reconstruction was always a strong possibility. The 29-year-old was a first-time All-Star in 2022, when he went 16-1 with a 2.14 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 24 starts, but he came back to Earth in 2023, posting a career-worst 4.98 ERA (5.45 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, 40 walks and 82 strikeouts in 103 innings over 20 starts for the Blue.
