Tony Gonsolin Tabbed For Game 3 On Friday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin will start Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Friday against the division-rival San Diego Padres, according to skipper Dave Roberts. Gonsolin was named an All-Star for the first time in his fourth big-league season in 2022, going 16-1 with a 2.14 ERA (3.28 FIP), a 0.87 WHIP, 119 strikeouts and 35 walks in 130 1/3 innings over his 24 starts. He was even better in his two starts against the Padres this year, allowing just one earned run on seven hits while walking one and striking out 14 in 12 2/3 innings to go 2-0. Gonsolin's last outing came against San Diego on Aug. 5, when he threw five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six.
