Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano turned in another strong outing in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Mariners. Sugano pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits (including a solo home run) and a walk with five strikeouts. The 35-year-old veteran has settled into his first season with MLB, going 5-3 with a 3.04 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and a 5.07 K/9 rate in 12 starts and 71 IP. His strikeout numbers are very low, although fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised given how he pitched throughout his career in Japan. The good news is that he has limited baserunners, allowing him to pitch deep into games. Seven of his 12 starts have lasted at least six IP. Sugano's next scheduled matchup will be a middling one at a hot Athletics lineup in Sacramento.--Connelly Doan
