Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot registered an assist to go along with a shot and three blocks as his team fell to the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Monday. The 22-year-old's helper, a secondary assist in the third period, was certainly welcome for the offensive-minded defenseman who had posted just two assists in his previous ten contests. Perhaps the rookie sensation is finally hitting a wall but Chabot's decreased production can partly be attributed to the Senators dealing its other three top point-producers in Mark Stone, Matt Duchene, and Ryan Dzingel at the deadline. Despite this, Chabot has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2018-2019 season and given his excellent production in his first full season (48 points, 13 power-play points, 163 shots), the Quebec native's future is still as bright as ever. He'll be back in action against the Blues on Thursday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
