Texans D/ST Remain a Top-10 Option Despite Offensive Struggles
The Houston Texans defense forced four turnovers on Monday night, coming off their bye week, and had a pair of sacks as well. The defense got a touchdown when Will Anderson Jr. sacked Sam Darnold, forced a fumble, and recovered it in the end zone. The No. 3 overall pick from Alabama is up to four sacks in his third NFL season and could challenge his personal best of 11 sacks from last season. Denico Autry had the other sack while Derek Stingley Jr. and Calen Bullock snagged the two interceptions. They did allow more than 20 points for the first time this season, though. The Texans' offense struggled on Monday in the team's loss, but the defense remains a strong, playmaking unit ahead of this week's matchup against the 49ers, who will again turn to Mac Jones at QB with Brock Purdy (toe) out. The 49ers have had three turnovers in the last two weeks and allowed seven sacks in those matchups against the Bucs and Falcons. The defense is the No. 10 DST this week and remains a solid starting play even though the offense didn't put it in a position to succeed last week.
