Taylor Walls Out With Injury, Wander Franco At SS
Taylor Walls (wrist) is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday due to a sore right wrist. Top prospect Wander Franco will slide in at the 6 and will hit third in his second major league game against Boston Red Sox right-hander Garrett Richards. In his first 27 games in the majors, Walls is hitting .222/.337/.333 with a homer and seven RBI. Franco, 20, had a big day in his major league debut on Tuesday night, going 2-for-4 with his first home run, a double and three RBI in five plate appearances. He also walked once and scored two runs. We have a sneaking suspicion that Franco will start to play more shortstop and send Walls to the bench in the future, but Franco can also play third base, like he did in his debut on Tuesday. The young shortstop needs to be owned in all leagues now that he's in the Show.
