Taylor Rogers Picks Up Fifth Save
6 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers struck out the side in the ninth inning of a 9-7 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday to get his fifth save of the season. Blake Parker got a hold after allowing two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Parker, with eight saves, receives the bulk of the opportunities, but Rogers gets enough to be relevant in mixed leagues. Rogers is probably the better pitcher too, as he now has a 34-to-6 K-BB ratio and 2.08 ERA that are better than Parker's 17-to-8 and 2.61 marks. Keep a close eye on this situation to see if Rogers starts getting more save opportunities. For now, Rogers is a worthy handcuff.
