Taurean Prince Making Good Case To Be Starter For Lakers
1 year agoLos Angeles Lakers forward Taurean Prince has impressed in the preseason and could end up being the fifth starter for the team. "You can just throw him on the floor," Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said of Prince last week. "He's a pro's pro. He's the quintessential three-and-D guy. His scrappiness. His activity. His communication with his teammates, trying to keep everybody focused on that side of the ball. As well as a guy who doesn't have to force anything. He knows his spots. He knows where to be. He can finish in the paint, make threes obviously. But just the consummate professional." The praise came after Prince scored 17 points and had two steals in 20 minutes in a preseason game against Golden State. The 29-year-old has averaged 10.6 points and 1.0 steals in 17.8 minutes with 47.8 percent shooting from deep in the preseason overall, starting four of five games.
