Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson (upper body) is regarded as a game-time decision ahead of Thursday's matchup against Detroit. Buffalo's breakout star continues to be troubled by an upper-body injury that has kept him out of three of the last four games. Thompson, who has exploded for 44 goals and 90 points in 73 games, has picked up the injury at the worst possible time, with the Sabres in a desperate battle for a playoff position. Casey Mittelstadt should again fill in as the first-line center if Thompson can't play Thursday. He racked up six points in the role in the three games Thompson recently missed. --Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
