Steven Matz To Undergo MRI On Finger
7 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz left Tuesday’s start against the Atlanta Braves with a finger injury, and on Wednesday he’ll be undergoing an MRI. Specifically, Matz injured his left middle finger. X-rays came back negative on Tuesday, but the Mets obviously want to get a closer look at what’s plaguing the southpaw. Matz was pitching well prior to his exit, allowing no runs and one hit in three innings pitched. He walked two and struck out two. While Matz hasn’t been amazing, losing him would be another severe blow to the Mets rotation that lost Noah Syndergaard on Wednesday as well. Yet again, injuries are piling up for the Amazins. It's unclear who would take Matz's spot in the rotation if he misses any time.
