Stephen Strasburg Experienced Trapezius Muscle Tightness Tuesday
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (trapezius) was removed from Tuesday's start against the Atlanta Braves after 30 pitches. It was revealed after the game by Nationals manager Dave Martinez that Strasburg's trapezius muscle got tight during the start, which caused the early exit. His exit came right after he was hit by a comebacker off the bat of Braves catcher William Contreras, but it sounds like the trapezius injury may be unrelated to the comebacker. Strasburg is scheduled to have an MRI on Wednesday. The results of the MRI should give us more information as to whether another stint on the injured list will be required.
