Stephen Piscotty Left Off Roster For Wild-Card Game
5 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Stephen Piscotty didn't make the roster for the American League wild-card game on Wednesday against the Rays. Piscotty had just returned from the disabled list over late last week and the A's don't feel comfortable trotting him out there with everything on the line in a one-game playoff. The 28-year-old was a disappointment in 2019 with a .249 average, 13 home runs, 46 runs scored and 44 RBI in just 93 games because of injuries. In 2018 he hit .267 with a career-high 27 long balls and 88 RBI in 151 games. If the A's make it past the Rays and face the Astros in a series, Piscotty could be added to the roster.
